Dr. Joanne Kim was born and raised in Southern California. She received her Bachelor’s from the University of California, Irvine and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry.
Dr. Kim has been in the optometry field since 2007, with her first role as a Doctor’s assistant at LensCrafters. It was while volunteering at a OneSight event that she discovered her passion for eyes and the ability to help people look, see, and feel better. Since then, she has continued to volunteer at vision events and missions to help improve people’s lives through the gift of sight.
Dr. Kim is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist. She is experienced in the medical management of a variety of ocular conditions including dry eye disease, myopia management, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. She is also a member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the American Optometric Association (AOA).
Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and visiting her friends and family back in California; she mostly spends all her free time with her husband, dogs and daughter.
